F40

The Segway Ninebot F40 is the top model of Segway-Ninebot's first dedicated F-series, sitting above the F25 and F30. It is built around a single 350 W nominal front hub motor with 700 W peak output, fed by a 36 V, 10.2 Ah lithium-ion pack rated at 367 Wh — the largest in the original F-series — for a quoted top speed of 30 km/h (EU variants limited to 25 km/h) and a claimed range of up to 40 km. Stopping is handled by a dual system: front-wheel electronic/regenerative braking plus a rear mechanical disc brake, operated through twin levers. It rides on 10-inch pneumatic anti-skid tyres with no dedicated suspension, leaning on the larger tyres for shock absorption, and carries an IPX5 water-resistance rating, a quick-folding stem, a handlebar LED dashboard and Bluetooth app locking. Segway is the historic US personal-transporter brand, owned since 2015 by Beijing-based Ninebot and now operating as Segway-Ninebot, with the F-series engineered and built in China. The honest trade-offs are a modest 36 V platform, no suspension and a fixed-speed single-motor drivetrain aimed at flat-to-rolling city commuting rather than hills or performance riding.
