APOLLO
Apollo Air
SKU: SCT-APAIR-001
Description
The Apollo Air is the entry-level, lightweight commuter in the Apollo Scooters line-up. It pairs a single 500 W rear hub motor with a 36 V 15 Ah (540 Wh) lithium battery, which Apollo sources from energy-dense 21700 cells (Samsung-branded on the 2023 revision). Independent testing put the top speed at roughly 33 km/h (about 20.6 mph) and real-world range at around 31-36 km depending on rider weight and mode, against a manufacturer claim of up to roughly 55 km. The scooter rides on 10-inch pneumatic tyres with a front spring (motorcycle-style fork) suspension and no rear suspension; the 2022 model used inner-tube tyres while the 2023 revision moved to self-healing tubeless tyres. Braking combines a front drum brake with regenerative braking on the motor. A small central display shows ride data, and an Apollo mobile app over Bluetooth exposes ride modes, speed limits and acceleration tuning. Weather sealing was rated IP54 on the 2022 model and upgraded to IP66 on the 2023 and 2024 revisions. Curb weight is around 17.4-18.8 kg, keeping it among the lighter full-suspension-class commuters, and the maximum rider load is 100 kg (220 lb).

Model history
The Apollo Air debuted as Apollo Scooters’ lightweight entry-level commuter, positioned below the brand’s City, Ghost and Phantom models. The 2022 model established the platform with a 500 W motor, 540 Wh battery, front fork suspension and IP54 sealing on inner-tube tyres. For the 2023 revision Apollo carried features down from its flagship Apollo Pro: self-healing tubeless tyres, a refreshed display, upgraded Samsung-branded 21700 cells and improved IP66 weather sealing, while keeping the same 500 W motor and 540 Wh battery. Reviewers measured a modest range gain between the two model years, attributing it to the upgraded cells.

Pros & cons
Pros
- Smooth ride from 10-inch pneumatic tyres and front spring suspension uncommon in entry-level scooters
- Relatively light at around 17.4-18.8 kg for a suspension-equipped commuter
- Apollo app adds ride modes, speed limits and acceleration/braking tuning
- IP66 weather sealing on 2023/2024 revisions, plus self-healing tubeless tyres
- Strong reliability scores from independent reviewers
Cons
- Single 500 W motor limits acceleration and hill-climbing versus dual-motor commuters
- No rear suspension, so larger impacts reach the rear wheel
- Tested range falls well short of the manufacturer range claim, especially for heavier riders
- Central display can be hard to read in direct sunlight
Verdict
The Apollo Air is a lightweight, well-rounded entry-level commuter that brings front suspension, pneumatic tyres and an app to riders stepping up from basic scooters. Its single 500 W motor and front-only suspension keep it firmly in the casual-commuter class rather than performance riding.
