Apollo City
SKU: APOLLO-CITY-2024
Description
The Apollo City 2024 is a dual-motor electric scooter built for urban commuting, equipped with two 500 W hub motors producing up to 2000 W peak. The 48 V 20 Ah (960 Wh) battery delivers up to 55 km in normal mode and 69 km in eco mode. Top speed is 51 km/h. PunctureGuard™ self-healing tubeless tyres instantly seal punctures up to 6 mm using an internal latex layer, eliminating flats without intervention. Dual drum brakes are complemented by the Power RBS™ regenerative braking system, with regen intensity adjustable via the Apollo App. Triple spring suspension front and rear absorbs road irregularities. IP66 protection withstands direct water jets. UL2271/2272 and EN 17128 certified.

Model history
The Apollo City was launched by Montreal-based Apollo Scooters in March 2022 as a redesigned, purpose-built urban commuter, replacing the earlier Apollo Explore. Apollo says it went “back to the drawing board,” engineering custom components rather than off-the-shelf parts so the City and dual-motor City Pro share an integrated frame with built-in turn signals, regenerative braking and an IP66 water rating. The line was iterated in subsequent model years (2023/2024) with refinements to lights, suspension and battery, and it is frequently cited as one of the most tightly integrated commuter designs of its era.

Pros & cons
Pros
- Strong, adjustable regenerative braking — reviewers found you can stop on regen alone, and Freshly Charged called it the best regen they had tested
- High IP66 water-resistance rating, making it a credible all-season / wet-weather commuter
- Integrated, custom-engineered design with built-in self-cancelling turn signals and clean cable routing
- Flatproof self-healing pneumatic tires plus dual swingarm/spring suspension for a comfortable ride
- Solid 6061-aluminium build with a large deck and wide bars that suit larger riders
Cons
- Heavy and not very compact when folded (around 65 lb / ~29 kg on the City Pro), limiting portability
- On the 2022 model the turn signals were only visible from the rear; later years improved front visibility
- Front headlight is not bright enough for confident night riding
- Small front fender lets mud and debris spray onto the deck; the kickstand feels flimsy
Verdict
The Apollo City is a premium, design-led urban commuter best suited to riders who value build quality, weather resistance and integrated safety features such as turn signals and strong regenerative braking over outright speed, range or light weight. It excels as a worry-free daily city ride, with the dual-motor City Pro adding more power and hill-climbing for heavier or hillier commutes.
What reviewers say
-
Turn signals within reach of each thumb. They beep and self cancel, so you don’t accidentally leave them on; the thumb lever lets you use 100% regenerative braking without touching the mechanical brakes.
Rider Guide -
Well worth serious consideration for its excellent build quality, style, superior braking power, smooth acceleration, and fantastic ride quality — a top choice for an all-season scooter, though the signals are only visible from the rear.
Scooter Guide -
The left-side thumb lever is actually for regenerative braking, and boy, does it work well. This is a ‘you don’t really need a car anymore’ scooter.
Electrek -
The regen braking of the Apollo City is better than any other scooter we have tested — but the front light just isn’t bright enough for night riding. If you prioritize build quality and premium features over speed and range, the Apollo City is for you.
