Apollo Explore
SKU: SCT-APEXP-001
Description
The Apollo Explore is a single rear-wheel-drive electric scooter built around a 52V, 18.2Ah (946 Wh) Dynavolt battery and a 1000W hub motor that peaks at 1400W. It reaches roughly 50 km/h (31 mph) and is rated for up to 54 km of range, with reviewers measuring closer to 37-45 km in mixed urban use. Ride comfort comes from 10-inch pneumatic tires combined with front spring and dual rear hydraulic suspension, while braking pairs mechanical disc brakes on both wheels with rear regenerative braking. A QS-S4 color LCD with a trigger throttle handles speed, range, battery and riding-mode readouts. The frame folds for transport, carries up to 120 kg, and the scooter weighs around 23 kg. Water resistance is rated IP54, and Apollo lists up to a 24-month warranty covering parts such as the frame, controller, steering and throttle.

Model history
Apollo, a Montreal-based scooter maker, introduced the Explore in 2023 as a single-motor model slotted between its entry-level and performance ranges. It was positioned as a comfort-focused commuter that brought suspension and disc brakes to riders wanting more than a basic city scooter. Apollo later replaced it with the dual-motor Explore 2.0, so the original single-motor Explore is now a prior-generation model.

Pros & cons
Pros
- Smooth ride quality from combined spring and dual hydraulic suspension
- Strong, stable acceleration and a high top speed for a single motor
- Dual disc brakes with regenerative braking give confident stopping
- Folding design and ~23 kg weight aid transport and storage
Cons
- Single rear motor limits traction and hill performance versus dual-motor rivals
- Real-world range falls noticeably short of the advertised maximum
- At around 23 kg it is heavier than basic commuter scooters
- IP54 rating offers only light water resistance, not full weatherproofing
Verdict
The Apollo Explore is a well-rounded single-motor commuter that prioritizes ride comfort, with suspension and dual disc brakes that smooth out rough urban surfaces while still reaching a brisk top speed. Its single rear motor and optimistic range rating are its main limitations, making it best suited to flatter city commutes rather than steep or heavy all-terrain duty.
