DUALTRON
Dualtron Ultra 2
SKU: SCT-DTU2-001
Description
The Dualtron Ultra 2 is the second generation of Minimotors’ off-road flagship, built under the Dualtron brand by the South Korean manufacturer. It uses twin BLDC hub motors with a combined peak output cited at approximately 6,640 W, driven by dual 40 A controllers, and in the configuration documented here carries a 72 V / 40 Ah battery built from LG M50LT 21700 cells and rated near 2,880 Wh. The chassis rides on 11-inch wide off-road pneumatic tyres with inner tubes, mounted on an aviation-grade aluminium frame, and uses adjustable rubber-elastomer cartridge suspension front and rear. Braking is handled by hydraulic disc brakes with electronic ABS on 160 mm rotors. Reviewers cite a manufacturer-quoted top speed in the region of 90 km/h and a maker range figure around 120 km, with real-world results varying widely by rider weight, terrain and riding mode. It is explicitly not a commuter device: at roughly 46 kg it is heavy to lift and carry, and its speed places it well beyond legal limits for shared paths in most jurisdictions.

Model history
Minimotors introduced the original Dualtron Ultra as its dedicated off-road hyper scooter, and the Ultra 2 followed as a second-generation update widely reviewed by English-language outlets from 2024 onward. The line was later offered in an upgraded 72 V / 40 Ah configuration using LG M50LT 21700 cells and the in-house EY4 display with Bluetooth, distinguishing it from the earlier EY3-equipped base version. Reviewers positioned it alongside the Thunder and X models as part of Dualtron’s hyper range, with the Ultra series defined by its taller off-road tyres and reinforced suspension.

Pros & cons
Pros
- Very high peak power and a manufacturer-quoted top speed near 90 km/h for experienced riders
- Large 72 V / 40 Ah LG cell pack supports long range under conservative riding
- 11-inch off-road tyres and adjustable cartridge suspension handle rough terrain and trails well
- Hydraulic disc brakes with electronic ABS provide strong, repeatable stopping power
- Robust aviation-grade aluminium frame built for sustained high-speed and off-road use
Cons
- At roughly 46 kg it is heavy and awkward to lift, carry, or stow despite folding
- Its speed far exceeds the legal limits for most public roads and shared paths
- Tubed off-road tyres are more prone to puncture and slower to repair than tubeless designs
- Reviewers note stem play and a tall ride height that takes acclimatisation
- The large 72 V pack means long charge times on a standard charger
Verdict
The Dualtron Ultra 2 is a serious off-road hyper-class machine aimed at experienced riders who want extreme power, long range and the ability to leave paved roads. Its weight, charge time and the legal reality of its speed make it impractical as an everyday commuter, but as a high-performance all-terrain enthusiast scooter it delivers the build quality the Dualtron name is known for.
What reviewers say
-
Nothing from the scooter comes loose nor breaks easily, as MiniMotors had managed to build this scooter to truly withstand the worst of the roads.
Scooter Guide -
The Dualtron Ultra 2 is one of my favorite electric scooters for off-roading.
