InMotion V11Y
SKU: EUC-IMV11Y-001
Description
The InMotion V11Y is a single-wheel self-balancing electric unicycle (EUC) and the upgraded successor to the V11, the first mass-produced EUC to ship with suspension. It pairs an 84 V (20S) battery built from Samsung 21700 50E cells with a stated 1500 Wh capacity, driving a 2500 W rated hub motor that peaks at 7000 W. A vertical suspension module delivers 85 mm of travel over an 18 x 3 inch pneumatic tyre. InMotion quotes a 60 km/h top speed, a 40-degree climbing angle and a factory range figure of about 120 km (74.56 miles), though independent retailer eWheels reports real-world range nearer 80 km. The wheel carries an IPX6 water-resistance rating, a 1500-lumen headlight, automotive-grade tail lights and pairs with the InMotion mobile app for speed, battery and temperature monitoring. Internally it uses a Raptor-series controller with a substantially higher MOSFET and capacitor count than the V11. Net weight is about 30 kg and rated payload roughly 120 kg.

Model history
InMotion’s V11, released in 2021, was the first mass-produced electric unicycle to ship with suspension. The V11Y arrived as its successor several years later, keeping the suspension concept while upgrading the controller, raising battery voltage to 84 V, increasing power and torque, and reworking the chassis for a higher stance and lower pedals.

Pros & cons
Pros
- 85 mm suspension travel noticeably smooths bumps and rough surfaces
- 84 V architecture and 7000 W peak give a higher top speed and stronger climbing than the V11
- Upgraded Raptor controller adds substantial MOSFET and capacitor headroom over the predecessor
- Faster 10 A charging support roughly halves charge time versus the original V11
- IPX6 rating, bright lighting and app telemetry suit year-round commuting
Cons
- Manufacturer range claim of about 120 km is well above the roughly 80 km some retailers report in real use
- At around 30 kg it is heavy to carry and manoeuvre when not riding
- 60 km/h capability demands experience and protective gear; not suited to beginners
- Standard charging takes about 8 hours unless the optional fast charger is used
Verdict
The V11Y is an evolutionary refresh of InMotion’s suspension EUC, trading the V11’s chassis for an 84 V pack, a stronger controller and more power while keeping the 85 mm suspension that defined the line. It targets experienced riders who want a comfortable, weatherproof commuter that can also handle moderate trails, with the usual caveats that manufacturer range figures run optimistic and the machine’s weight and speed reward skill.
