Description
Kaabo Mantis King GT — The Most Powerful Mantis
Mantis King GT is the peak of the Mantis series, combining urban scooter compactness with power approaching the Wolf series. Two 1100W motors enable acceleration up to 70 km/h, and the 60V 24Ah battery delivers a 90 km range. These are impressive figures for a scooter that remains relatively compact.
A 30° climb angle is sufficient for most urban conditions. Hydraulic brakes and suspension ensure comfort and safety at speed. Foldable construction allows convenient storage at home or in the office.
Mantis King GT is the ideal choice for riders who need a powerful urban scooter but find the Wolf series too large. It is lighter and more maneuverable while not yielding in speed. The downside is a smaller climb angle compared with the Wolf series (30° versus 35°), which may be noticeable on very steep hills.

Model history
Launched in 2022, the Mantis King GT is the flagship of the Mantis family and a near-complete overhaul of the earlier Mantis Pro. It pairs twin 1100 W motors with a 60 V 24 Ah Samsung pack and adds adjustable front and rear hydraulic shocks, waterproof sine-wave controllers, a better display and improved sealing (IPX5). It earned all-terrain accolades and is widely regarded as the most refined Mantis to date.

Pros & cons
Pros
- Strong dual-motor acceleration — roughly 0-15 mph in 2-3 seconds, well above its class
- Outstanding dual spring suspension paired with 10-inch pneumatic tires for a smooth ride on rough surfaces
- Powerful braking — semi-hydraulic on early models, fully hydraulic dual-disc on Pro/V2 versions
- Bomb-proof build quality with a locking stem and minimal wobble
- Long real-world range, with eco-mode figures around 40-45 miles on higher-capacity versions
- Adjustable front and rear hydraulic shocks give an exceptionally smooth, dial-in ride over rough terrain
- Blistering acceleration — Rider Guide clocked 0-15 mph in 1.9 seconds, dethroning the Mantis Pro
- Among the strongest brakes in the class, stopping in roughly 2.1 m from 15 mph
- IPX5 sealing and waterproof controllers improve wet-weather confidence over earlier Mantis models
- Premium 6061-T6 aluminum build that ‘feels as premium as it looks’
Cons
- Heavy (around 61-66 lbs / 28-30 kg), limiting comfortable carrying despite folding
- Ergonomically uncomfortable thumb/trigger throttle noted by multiple reviewers
- Weak factory lighting that is insufficient for confident night riding on early models
- Bulky when folded and no integrated locking mechanism
- Early 2019 units suffered notable reliability and folding-mechanism problems before later refinement; base model lacked an IP water-resistance rating
- Stem is not as stiff as rivals like the VSETT and Phantom, with some flex at speed
- About 4 kg heavier than the previous-generation Mantis, reducing portability
- Hybrid off-road tires are noticeably louder on pavement
- Real-world range (~60 km) trails the advertised 90 km when ridden at speed
- Poor rear fender design and a handlebar latch that clanks against the stem while riding
Verdict
4.8/5 Reviewer consensus · 3 sources
The Mantis King GT suits a rider who wants the most refined, all-terrain Mantis with adjustable hydraulic suspension and serious acceleration for mixed city and rougher surfaces. Accept a slightly flexier stem, added weight and louder tires as the trade-off for its versatility and improved weatherproofing.
