KingSong 16X
SKU: EUC-KS16X-001
Description
The KingSong 16X is a 16-inch electric unicycle (EUC) released in mid-2019, built around a single 2200W hub motor (about 4200W peak) on an 84V system. It pairs a large 1554Wh battery (21.6Ah, LG cells) with a wide 16x3-inch pneumatic tire, giving strong torque, quick acceleration and a manufacturer-claimed top speed of 50 km/h (31 mph). The 16X has no suspension; the fat tire alone soaks up minor road imperfections. KingSong claims up to about 145 km of range, while independent and real-world testing typically lands nearer 70-100 km depending on speed, rider weight and terrain. At roughly 24 kg it is a substantial machine carried by a retractable trolley handle, and it adds a built-in speaker system, RGB lighting and KingSong app connectivity over Bluetooth. As with any unicycle, balancing it is a serious skill that must be learned before riding at speed, and full protective gear is essential.

Model history
KingSong, one of the longest-running electric-unicycle makers, launched the 16X in July 2019 as a wide-tire, long-range sibling to its 18-inch 18XL. Its big 1554Wh pack and 16x3-inch tire made it a popular high-mileage commuter and one of the era’s most widely reviewed wheels, just before suspension models like the company’s own S18 arrived. KingSong later revisited the platform with a 16X Pro variant carrying upgraded electronics and a higher top speed.

Pros & cons
Pros
- Large 1554Wh battery delivers strong real-world range for its era
- Wide 16x3-inch tire gives confident torque, traction and stability
- 2200W motor with about 4200W peak handles steep hills well
- Retractable trolley handle eases moving the roughly 24 kg wheel
- App connectivity and firmware-tunable ride modes
Cons
- No suspension — comfort relies entirely on the tire over rough ground
- Heavy at about 24 kg, making it tiring to carry up stairs
- Steep learning curve — riding a unicycle demands real balancing skill
- 31 mph top speed is dangerous without experience and full protective gear
- Manufacturer range claim (about 145 km) is optimistic versus real-world figures
Verdict
The KingSong 16X is a capable long-range workhorse: a powerful motor, big battery and wide tire make it a strong all-round commuter for its generation, at the cost of weight and the absence of suspension. It is not a beginner toy — it is fast and demands confident balancing skills plus full protective gear (helmet, plus wrist, elbow and knee protection). Real-world range falls short of the optimistic factory claim, so judge it on tested figures.
