Veteran Sherman L
SKU: EUC-VTSHL-001
Description
The Veteran Sherman L is the long-range successor in LeaperKim’s Veteran Sherman family, blending the high-capacity battery lineage of the Sherman series with the suspension and refinement of newer Veteran wheels. It carries a 4,000 Wh Samsung 50S pack at 151 V nominal, driving a 3,200 W hub motor rated to roughly 8,000 W peak. Unlike the original suspension-free Sherman, the L adds a Fastace hydraulic fork with about 90 mm of adjustable travel, offered with three spring weights. Reviewers consistently report real-world range around 140-160 km and a cruising ceiling near 90 km/h, while noting that the wheel’s size and mass make it better suited to experienced long-distance riders than to slow-speed urban maneuvering. A notable engineering feature is sensorless backup operation, letting the wheel keep balancing even after a total loss of motor hall-sensor signal.

Model history
LeaperKim introduced the Veteran Sherman L in 2024 as the long-range evolution of the original Veteran Sherman, which had launched around 2020-2021 as one of the most capable high-speed touring unicycles of its era. Where the first Sherman was a rigid, suspension-free wheel built around range and torque, the L generation folds in a Fastace fork suspension and a larger 4,000 Wh Samsung 50S pack, positioning it as a hybrid that combines the Sherman series’ long-distance pedigree with the comfort of LeaperKim’s later suspension wheels.

Pros & cons
Pros
- Very large 4,000 Wh battery delivers among the longest range in its class
- Strong, smooth torque from the 3,200 W motor at any speed or incline
- Comfortable, low-maintenance Fastace fork suspension with adjustable springs
- Relatively light for its battery size compared with rival high-capacity wheels
- Sensorless backup operation adds a meaningful safety margin
Cons
- Heavy at roughly 46.5 kg, limiting portability and slow-speed handling
- Bulky and wide, making it harder to maneuver in tight urban settings
- Stock street tire criticized for poor shape and train-tracking behavior
- Best suited to experienced riders rather than beginners or commuters
Verdict
4.1/5 Reviewer consensus · 4 sources
The Veteran Sherman L is a hyper-class touring unicycle that trades portability for exceptional range, torque and a comfortable suspension. It rewards experienced long-distance riders, but its size, weight and mediocre stock tire make it a poor fit for casual city commuting.
What reviewers say
-
The 3200W motor provides plenty of torque and accelerating power at any speed, up almost any incline. It’s super smooth.
Freshly Charged -
This is one of the worst stock street tires we’ve reviewed in a while—the distinct shape causes train-tracking.
Freshly Charged -
The Sherman-L is the first Electric Unicycle that supports total loss of the motor hall signal, while still being able to function from a complete stop.

This ride is an experience; it brings out the best of what the Sherman series is known for.
