DUALTRON
Dualtron Spider
SKU: SCT-DTSPDR-001
Description
The Dualtron Spider is Minimotors’ attempt to compress the Dualtron formula into a portable package. It runs two brushless direct-drive hub motors rated at 1500W each (3000W nominal, around 3600W peak) from a 60V 17.5Ah battery built on LG MJ1 cells for 1050Wh of capacity. Reviewers consistently record a top speed near 60km/h and a real-world range of roughly 60km. What sets the Spider apart within the Dualtron family is mass: at about 20kg it is the lightest model in the range, achieved through aluminium, magnesium and carbon-fibre components, which is why it became popular in jurisdictions with strict scooter weight limits. It rolls on 10-inch pneumatic tyres, uses adjustable rubber-cartridge suspension front and rear, and brakes with cable-actuated discs paired with ABS. The cockpit centres on Minimotors’ EYE LCD dashboard. The Spider folds for transport and is widely positioned as the most commuter-oriented Dualtron rather than a top-speed flagship.

Model history
The Dualtron Spider was introduced by Minimotors (Korea) as a lighter, more portable sibling to the Dualtron Thunder, with one of the first in-depth English reviews appearing in late 2018. It was designed to deliver dual-motor Dualtron performance while staying around 20kg, partly to suit weight-limited regulations in markets such as Singapore. The Spider later spawned successors including the Spider 2 and Spider Max, which raised battery capacity and motor output while retaining the lightweight design philosophy.

Pros & cons
Pros
- One of the lightest high-performance dual-motor scooters at about 20kg
- Strong climbing ability, rated around 25 degrees gradeability
- Adjustable front and rear rubber-cartridge suspension over 10-inch pneumatic tyres
- Dual disc brakes with ABS for controlled stopping
- Foldable and manoeuvrable, well suited to daily commuting
Cons
- No official IP rating, so wet-weather use is at the rider’s risk
- Shorter range than heavier Dualtron models such as the Thunder
- Original cockpit lacks app connectivity found on later EY-series Dualtrons
- Cable-actuated discs are less powerful than the hydraulics on newer revisions
Verdict
The Dualtron Spider trades the outright range and brute force of larger Dualtrons for portability, making it the family’s most commuter-friendly option. Riders who need genuine dual-motor performance in a sub-20kg package that they can fold and carry are its clearest fit.
