InMotion V10F

SKU: EUC-IMV10-001

Description

The InMotion V10F is a 16-inch electric unicycle built around an 84V battery rated at 960Wh (12.8Ah) and a hub motor with a 2000W sustained rating that reviewers note can peak considerably higher. It tops out at about 40km/h (25mph), and InMotion claims a maximum range near 96km (about 60 miles) under favourable conditions, though independent testers report a realistic figure closer to 65km depending on rider weight, speed and terrain. The wheel uses a 2.5-inch-wide pneumatic tyre on a 16-inch rim and has no suspension; instead it leans on a tall pedal height (about 17cm) and a slim 5.2-inch-wide body to deliver a stable, ride-like-an-18-inch feel while staying easy to mount and carry. It weighs roughly 20.6kg, is rated for a maximum load near 118kg, and carries an IP55 rating. The V10F is known for a headlight about three times brighter than the earlier V8, customisable front, rear and side LED lighting, dual speakers, an active cooling system and a retractable trolley handle. There is no traditional display: status and statistics are read through the companion app over Bluetooth. The companion V10 shares the same chassis but uses a smaller 650Wh (8.8Ah) battery and an 1800W motor.

Model history

InMotion introduced the V10 and the longer-range V10F in 2018 (sold as the Solowheel V10 in some markets), positioning the V10F as a high-range upgrade over the V8. With its 960Wh pack, 2000W motor and slim, portable body, the V10F became one of the most popular commuter and performance electric unicycles of its generation and a common entry point for new riders. It predated InMotion’s later suspension wheels such as the V11, which it has no suspension to share.

Pros & cons

Pros

  • Slim, well-balanced body that feels stable and easy to mount
  • Large 960Wh battery delivers a strong real-world commuting range
  • Notably bright headlight and fully customisable LED lighting
  • Relatively light at about 20.6kg for its battery size
  • Tall pedal height gives an 18-inch-like ride from a 16-inch wheel

Cons

  • No suspension, so rough roads are felt directly
  • Thermal protection can force a dismount when the controller overheats on long climbs
  • Default speaker volume is very loud and some prototype build details were rough
  • No main display; all data lives in the companion app
  • Trolley handle can wobble in use

Verdict

The InMotion V10F is a classic commuter and performance electric unicycle whose slim body, bright lighting and large 960Wh battery made it one of the most popular wheels of the late-2010s. Reviewers praise its balance, range and ergonomics while noting the lack of suspension and thermal limits on sustained climbs. It suits riders who want a portable, well-rounded commuter rather than a suspension cruiser or top-speed machine.
