InMotion V8S
SKU: EUC-IMV8S-001
Description
The InMotion V8S is a 16-inch self-balancing electric unicycle positioned as the long-range member of InMotion’s popular V8 family. It keeps the compact, suitcase-style form factor and 1000 W (2000 W peak) motor of the V8F but swaps in a substantially larger 728 Wh battery built from 20S2P LG M50T 21700 cells, raising claimed range to around 75 km while adding only about a kilogram of weight. With a top speed near 35 km/h, 65 N·m of torque, a 120 kg load rating and an IP54 weather rating, it targets daily commuters and newer riders who want more range without stepping up to a heavier, faster wheel. A retractable trolley handle, lift button, front headlight, brake light and full smartphone-app customization round out a package widely described as responsive, intuitive and beginner-friendly.
Highlights
- 728 Wh battery — a 210 Wh jump over the 518 Wh V8F, for roughly 75 km of claimed range
- 1000 W rated / 2000 W peak motor with 65 N·m torque and 30 percent climbing ability
- Light and portable at about 15.8 kg with a flush retractable trolley handle and lift button
- 16-inch pneumatic tire and IP54 rating suited to all-weather city commuting
- Full app support for customizing ride characteristics, tilt-back and speed limits
- Top speed around 35 km/h with a responsive, beginner-friendly ride feel
Model history
Introduced in 2023 as an update to InMotion’s long-running V8 line, the V8S is essentially a long-range variant of the V8F: the two share the same chassis and 1000 W motor, with the V8S differing mainly in its larger 728 Wh battery (20S2P 21700 cells) versus the V8F’s 518 Wh 18650 pack. The original V8 was one of the most popular beginner wheels of its era, and the V8S extended that legacy by slotting between the V8F and the larger V10F, giving newer riders extra range while keeping the family’s signature light, portable handling.

Pros & cons
Pros
- Large 728 Wh battery delivers noticeably more range than the V8F for only ~1 kg extra
- Light and easy to carry, with a retractable trolley handle and lift button
- Responsive, intuitive handling that suits beginners and commuters
- IP54 weather resistance and a 16-inch tire well matched to city riding
- Mature, well-supported platform with full app customization
Cons
- Real-world GPS range (~42 km in independent testing) falls well short of the 75 km claim
- No suspension, so rough roads are felt through the 16-inch wheel
- 1000 W motor and ~35 km/h top speed are modest versus larger performance EUCs
- Charge time of roughly 5.5–6 hours on the stock charger
Verdict
The V8S is a sensible, well-rounded commuter EUC: it takes the trusted, beginner-friendly V8F and adds meaningful range via its 728 Wh battery without sacrificing the light, portable character that made the family popular. Riders who want a fast or off-road wheel should look higher in the lineup, but for everyday urban travel it is a dependable, easy-to-live-with choice.
