Description
Kaabo Mantis 10 Plus — Balanced Urban Scooter
Mantis 10 Plus is the dual-motor urban model in the Mantis series. Two 1000W motors provide a comfortable top speed of up to 60 km/h, and the 60V 18.2Ah battery delivers a 75 km range — more than enough for daily commutes to work and back.
Hydraulic brakes and suspension ensure safety and comfort on city roads. The 30° climb angle is standard for the Mantis series. Foldable construction and moderate weight make the scooter convenient for storage.
Mantis 10 Plus is the base configuration of the serious Kaabo electric scooters. It offers what’s needed for a comfortable city ride: dual motors, hydraulics, a good range. If you plan frequent trips outside the city or need speeds above 60 km/h — consider the Mantis King GT or the Wolf series instead.

Model history
The Mantis 10 Plus sits in the V2 generation of Kaabo’s Mantis line, the dual-motor platform that defined the performance-commuter class in the late 2010s and early 2020s. With twin 1000 W motors, a 60 V 18.2 Ah battery and dual spring-swingarm suspension, the Plus is the mid-tier rung between the single-battery base Mantis and the higher-capacity Pro. It became one of the most cross-shopped commuter-performance scooters of its era, praised mainly for ride comfort and build durability.

Pros & cons
Pros
- Strong dual-motor acceleration — roughly 0-15 mph in 2-3 seconds, well above its class
- Outstanding dual spring suspension paired with 10-inch pneumatic tires for a smooth ride on rough surfaces
- Powerful braking — semi-hydraulic on early models, fully hydraulic dual-disc on Pro/V2 versions
- Bomb-proof build quality with a locking stem and minimal wobble
- Long real-world range, with eco-mode figures around 40-45 miles on higher-capacity versions
- Dual spring-and-swingarm suspension delivers best-in-class ride comfort for its class, soaking up rough pavement
- Strong, repeatable braking — reviewers measured a complete stop from 15 mph in about 2.0 meters
- Brisk dual-motor acceleration (0-15 mph in ~2.1 s) for confident merging and hill climbing
- Bomb-proof 6061-T6 aluminum build that holds up to daily commuting
- Manageable 30 kg weight relative to its performance, easier to handle than larger hyper-class scooters
Cons
- Heavy (around 61-66 lbs / 28-30 kg), limiting comfortable carrying despite folding
- Ergonomically uncomfortable thumb/trigger throttle noted by multiple reviewers
- Weak factory lighting that is insufficient for confident night riding on early models
- Bulky when folded and no integrated locking mechanism
- Early 2019 units suffered notable reliability and folding-mechanism problems before later refinement; base model lacked an IP water-resistance rating
- Real-world range (~45 km tested) falls well short of the advertised 75 km when ridden at speed
- Folding mechanism is clunky and slower to operate than newer rivals
- Finger throttle ergonomics are awkward for some riders on longer rides
- Rear tire mudguard is not very effective at keeping spray off the rider
- No water-resistance (IP) rating, limiting confident wet-weather use
Verdict
The Mantis 10 Plus suits a rider who wants genuine dual-motor acceleration and standout suspension comfort for daily city commuting without stepping up to a heavy hyper-scooter. The main trade-offs are an optimistic range figure, a clunky fold and dated throttle ergonomics, so plan around ~45 km of realistic range rather than the headline number.
