Model history
The Burn-E is the debut model of NAMI, a brand founded by former Kaabo designer Michael Sha, and it launched in 2021 (also sold as the Burn-E ‘Viper’). It immediately set the template for the series: a hand-welded aviation-grade aluminium frame, a carbon-fibre steering column and fully adjustable hydraulic coil-shock suspension. RiderGuide reported it broke 13 of 16 of its performance records on debut, and it became the benchmark for ride quality in the high-performance category.

Pros & cons
Pros
- One of the quickest production accelerations in its class
- Adjustable dual hydraulic suspension — benchmark comfort
- Powerful 4-piston hydraulic brakes
- High build quality and premium materials
- Fully adjustable 165mm hydraulic coil-shock suspension front and rear that reviewers rated among the best ride quality available at launch
- Hand-welded aviation-grade aluminium frame with a carbon-fibre steering column, described by testers as overwhelmingly solid build quality
- Strong dual-hydraulic disc brakes (Nutt) with regenerative braking and multiple intensity levels
- Exceptional hill-climbing, with RiderGuide recording an ascent of a 31.5% San Francisco grade
- 72V high-capacity pack delivers genuine long-distance touring range when ridden in eco modes
Cons
- Heavy (over 40 kg) — awkward to carry
- Demanding to own and maintain (premium parts, slow charging)
- Power is overkill for the city — best for experienced riders
- Heavy at roughly 47-48 kg as tested, with limited portability and awkward to lift or fit in most car trunks
- Display can be hard to read in bright daylight
- Some dead space in the thumb-throttle travel and a finger pinch point near the folding mechanism during transport
- Early US shipments had shipping-damage issues that generated some of the model’s initial controversy
- Advertised top speed and range overstate real-world figures, which testers measured noticeably lower in performance modes
Verdict
4.8/5 Reviewer consensus · 3 sources
The original Burn-E suits experienced riders who want flagship-grade suspension and build in a long-range commuter-tourer rather than a track weapon. Its weight and size make it impractical for anyone who needs frequent carrying or multi-modal transport, and bright-light display readability is a minor annoyance, but as a comfort-focused high-performance scooter it set the standard the rest of the series builds on.
