Veteran Patton
SKU: EUC-VTPAT-001
Description
The Veteran Patton is a high-power suspension electric unicycle from LeaperKim (Guangzhou Veteran Intelligent Technology), positioned as the compact, suspended counterpart to the long-range Sherman. A 3000W hub motor with a 7000W (7kW) peak runs on a 126V system fed by a 2220Wh pack of Samsung 21700 50E cells, giving strong torque, fast acceleration and a loaded top speed around 70km/h. Where the Sherman is a wide, unsuspended 20-inch tourer, the Patton wraps that voltage and power into a smaller chassis built around a 12-inch motorcycle rim with a fat 3-inch tire (the spec sheet lists it as an 18-inch wheel, though riders commonly call it a 16-inch wheel because of the small overall diameter). The defining feature is a Fastace mid-mounted suspension with 80mm of vertical travel and 12-click compression, 18-click rebound and 12mm preload adjustment, making it far plusher over rough ground than the rigid Sherman. It is an aggressive, off-road-capable machine for experienced riders, not a beginner wheel.

Model history
LeaperKim released the Patton in 2022 as the suspension sibling to its 2020 debut, the long-range Sherman. It paired the high-voltage 126V platform and 3000W motor that made the Sherman fast with a compact, suspended chassis aimed at torque, hill-climbing and off-road riding rather than outright range. The Patton was later iterated into the lighter, hall-sensorless Patton-S, but the original established LeaperKim’s compact high-power suspension format that the brand carried into wheels like the Lynx.

Pros & cons
Pros
- Very high torque and power for its size — strong acceleration and confident hill-climbing from the 3000W / 7000W-peak motor
- Fastace 80mm suspension with full compression, rebound and preload adjustment soaks up rough ground the rigid Sherman cannot
- Compact 12-inch-rim chassis with a fat 3-inch tire is more nimble and off-road-capable than the larger Sherman
- 126V / 2220Wh Samsung 21700 pack delivers sustained power and real-world range in the 60-80km band
- Dual 15A charge ports for faster charging, plus bright 2000lm headlights and brake/turn-signal lighting
Cons
- Heavy at around 39kg (about 86 lbs) — awkward to lift, carry or load into a vehicle
- Shorter range than the long-range Sherman, since the 2220Wh pack is smaller than the Sherman’s
- Steep learning curve — like any unicycle it demands real balancing skill before it is safe, and the suspension adds setup complexity
- High speed and power are dangerous for inexperienced riders; full protective gear is essential
- No factory smartphone app on the original Patton, and no published IP rating — limits telemetry and confidence in wet conditions
Verdict
The Veteran Patton suits experienced EUC riders who want the Sherman’s voltage and power in a smaller, suspended, more off-road-capable package and are willing to trade some range for comfort over rough ground. Its weight, speed and demanding learning curve make it unsuitable for beginners, and it should never be ridden without full protective gear.
