Veteran Sherman Max

SKU: EUC-VTSHMX-001

Description

The Veteran Sherman Max is LeaperKim’s long-range successor to the original Sherman, released in 2022. It pairs a 2800W hub motor on a 100.8V system with a large 3600Wh Samsung 50E pack, giving it roughly 20% more torque and about 12% more capacity than the first Sherman. Real-world range typically lands around 120-140km, with a factory-rated figure far higher under ideal conditions, and a loaded top speed near 80km/h. The 20-inch off-road tyre and wide, laterally balanced chassis make it a stable high-speed cruiser, but like its predecessor it has no suspension, so rough terrain is transmitted straight to the rider. It is a touring flagship built for experienced wheel riders, not beginners.

Model history

LeaperKim (Guangzhou Veteran Intelligent Technology), a team that includes former Gotway engineers, launched the Sherman Max in 2022 as the long-range follow-up to its landmark 2020 Sherman. It extended the original’s touring formula with a larger 3600Wh pack, a stronger 2800W motor and thicker phase wiring for more torque. The Max sat at the top of the Sherman line as the range-focused flagship before LeaperKim later branched into the suspension-equipped Sherman-S and Sherman-L.

Pros & cons

Pros

  • Very large 3600Wh battery delivers exceptional touring range with little range anxiety
  • Roughly 20% more torque than the original Sherman aids hard launches and steep climbs
  • Balanced weight distribution makes it remarkably stable at high cruising speeds
  • Durable steel roll-cage build with dual cooling fans and dual charge ports
  • 20-inch off-road tyre and on-board LCD with Bluetooth app telemetry

Cons

  • Heavy at around 39kg — awkward to lift, carry, or load into a vehicle
  • No suspension, so big bumps and rough trails are transmitted straight to the rider
  • Low pedal clearance limits aggressive technical and single-track off-road riding
  • Steep learning curve and high speed make it unsafe for inexperienced riders without full gear
  • Minimal water resistance and no kickstand, fender, speakers or kill switch from the factory

Verdict

The Veteran Sherman Max suits experienced EUC riders who want maximum touring range and stable, high-speed cruising over suspension comfort. Its 3600Wh pack and stronger motor refine the original Sherman’s long-distance template, but the weight, speed and unsuspended ride keep it firmly out of beginner territory and demand full protective gear.

What reviewers say

  • The weight on the Sherman Max feels balanced, making it ultra stable at high speeds. I can cruise comfortably at 40 mph without getting speed wobbles.

  • The low pedal clearance is poor for intense single track, technical trail, and off road riding.
